Creating Inspiring Workshops and Courses in Transdisciplinarity: A Guide - Manual / Resource - Page 9
What this guide is not ⸀
It is not a step-by-step “lesson plan” or curriculum. TD trainings
need to be customized for audiences, the length of the training,
and the overall purpose and specific needs and contexts in which
TD is expected to be used. Given the nature of the TD process,
it is impossible to provide a one-size-fits-all training, but it is
possible to lead you through the common choices you must
make to develop a tailored training event.
What are the limitations of this guide?
This design guide is a reference that aims to speak to audiences
across the globe. The Tools Sections points to tools that are open
access and widely available via the internet. Those without direct
access to the internet will need to draw on partners or libraries to
access these important resources.

The “Further Reading” references that accompany various
sections of this guide draw from literatures across geographies,
aim to be gender balanced overall, and avoid reliance on a
small set of transdisciplinary platforms, toolkits, or schools of
thought. We aimed to select readings that are open access,
comprehensive, accessible, and diverse, yet some of the best
resources do not meet all these criteria. Resources behind
institutional paywalls can be requested from authors directly.
The references that informed the development of this guide
and the Further Readings are up to date as of December 2024.
In short, this is a living document, and imperfect, but we gave it
our best to make the hard choices among a plethora of potential
resources, so you can get to work immediately.
